Privacy Policy
What We Record
Phone calls made to Earshot are recorded. This is disclosed at the start of every call before recording begins. By continuing the call, you consent to being recorded.
Phone Number Handling
Your phone number is stored temporarily to allow you to retrieve your recording. After 24 hours, your phone number is irreversibly hashed using SHA-256. After hashing, we cannot identify who made a recording — the original number cannot be recovered.
Device Information
Device type, brand, and model are collected voluntarily when you retrieve your recording. This information is used for product recommendations and aggregate statistics. You are not required to provide brand or model details.
Recordings
Recordings may be shared publicly as part of the Earshot audio collection after admin review. Approved recordings are assigned a permanent URL and may remain publicly accessible indefinitely. Rejected recordings are not publicly accessible.
Star Ratings
Star ratings are optional. When submitted, they are used to improve product recommendations and aggregate device audio quality data. Ratings are not linked to your identity after phone anonymization.
Cookies & Tracking
We may use privacy-focused analytics to understand how visitors use the site. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking beyond what is configured in our analytics settings. No data is shared with ad networks.
Affiliate Links
Product recommendations on the playback page may include Amazon affiliate links. Clicking these links does not share your Earshot data with Amazon. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases.
Data Storage
Recordings are stored in cloud storage and archived to permanent servers. No personal data is sold to third parties.
Your Rights
If you have questions about your data, contact us at earshot.fyi. Note that once your phone number has been anonymized (after 24 hours), we literally cannot identify which recordings belong to you.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Continued use of Earshot after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
